About Us

Joining the hive.

When we work together, awesome things can happen.

The BeHive philosophy is based on collaboration and teamwork. That’s why we treat parents and caregivers as key members of the team—we help each other better understand the children and how to nurture their growth.

No one knows your child better than you do, which is why we’re committed to involve parents in the treatment process. And in addition to caregivers, BeHive aims to include the other adults in each child’s support system in their therapy. We ensure you’re with us at every step of the way: always kept in the loop, able to weigh in at any time, and empowered to support your child throughout this process.

BeHive is a place where children and their families are welcome without judgment. Here, we break free from stigmas and hold a space where our difficulties don’t define us, and our differences are celebrated.

We all know it takes a village to raise a child - and we’re proud to be a
part of it.

FAQ

  • Finding the right support for your child can be challenging, which is why BeHive Therapy works hard to make the process as seamless as possible. We understand that it is essential to prioritize finding someone with whom you and your child feel comfortable.

With that in mind, if you are interested in setting up an appointment, please fill out the contact form. From there, we will be in touch to schedule a complementary phone consultation. During this time, we can answer any questions you may have and give you the chance to determine if BeHive is a good fit for you and your child.

From there, we can arrange a more extensive phone consultation to discuss your child’s goals and next steps prior to beginning sessions.

  • Together, we’ll find a consistent weekly time that works for both of our schedules. We maintain daytime and evening availability during the week to accommodate a variety of schedules.

  • Both individual and group sessions range from 45-60 minutes.

  • Sessions are provided in the comfort of the child’s home, school, or another agreed upon location.

  • Of course! We encourage you to provide us with consent to include parents, teachers, other therapists, nannies, etc. on communications so that we can work together as a team. The collaboration between key adults in a child’s life is an essential component of an inclusive and successful support system. Together, we’ll foster an environment where each child can reach their full potential!

  • If a child is struggling socially, emotionally, or academically, it can often be beneficial for us to work with them at school. With caregiver permission, we begin by reaching out to the school to gain insights into the child's needs. If it’s determined that a school-based intervention could be beneficial, we find a suitable time for an observation.

During the observation, we attentively observe the child's behaviors and social interactions within the school environment. Afterwards, we discuss our findings with the child’s family and school to present our proposed treatment plan.

Often, treatment plans include school push-in sessions. During these sessions, we accompany the child during unstructured or social parts of the school day. This enables us to provide support and targeted interventions in real-time in order to enhance social skills and peer interactions.

By following this structured approach and fostering collaboration between all stakeholders involved, we aim to addresses the child's needs in a sensitive, empowering way.

  • BeHive Therapy is an out-of-network provider, meaning we are not in-network and do not currently accept insurance. For clients with “Out of Network” insurance benefits, we can provide invoices and superbills to submit to insurance carriers for potential reimbursement.

  • We ask clients to please provide as much notice as possible if they need to reschedule or cancel a session. Any late cancellation (24 hours or less) or no-show appointments will be charged in full.
